BOTOX®: What To Expect …
Preparation for a BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment requires the avoidance of aspirin or aspirin containing compounds as well as Vitamin E and St. John’s Wort for 5 days prior to the treatment.

The treatment requires 10-20 minutes in the office. A light cold pack afterwards also helps to minimize any risk of bruising or significant swelling. DO NOT RUB the area or areas treated for 48 hours. Remain upright for at least 4 hours after the treatment. You may resume light activities immediately. Avoid exercise for 24 hours. Re-treatment if partially or completely unsuccessful may be performed at a minimum of 2 weeks following the initial treatment.

Expect to see results from your Botox® Cosmetic treatment in 2-4 days, with optimal response in 1-4 weeks, declining effect of the treatment over 3-4 months. To maintain the effects of Botox® Cosmetic, re-treatment is required at various intervals. The treatment is uniformly quick and painless with minimal downtime. Mild headache, nausea, upper respiratory or flu like symptoms, and eyelid droop have been reported as side effects. These are generally self-limited and resolve quickly.

Contraindications:
Individuals with existing neuromuscular disorders such as multiple sclerosis, or other significant systemic or disabling diseases or conditions are not candidates for treatment. Perlane®
Perlane® restores volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds). After your treatment, you might have some swelling, redness, pain, and bruising. This will normally last less than seven days. Although rare, red or swollen small bumps may occur. If you have had herpes before, an injection can cause the herpes to return. In rare circumstances, the doctor may inject into a blood vessel, which can damage the skin. To avoid bruising and bleeding, you should not use Perlane if you have recently used drugs that thin your blood or prevent clotting. Dermal Fillers:
What To Expect … (ie: Restylane; Perlane; Juvederm Ultra; Juvederm Ultra Plus) Preparation for a dermal filler injectable treatment requires the avoidance of aspirin or aspirin containing compounds, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications as well as St. John’s Wort and high doses of Vitamin E for 5 days prior to the treatment as these may increase bruising or bleeding at the injection site. Also, if you have previously suffered from facial cold sores, discuss this with your doctor, who may prescribe a medication to minimize recurrence.

People with previous bad allergies, particularly to certain microorganisms known as gram positive bacteria, previous allergies requiring in-hospital treatment or people with bleeding disorders should not be treated with any dermal-filler.
